Position Summary

Grassy Creek is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee projects and monitor all construction activities at international job sites. This position is responsible for managing contractors, subcontracts and crews, creating and maintaining construction schedules, ordering materials, and ensuring health and safety compliance. This position requires 8-10+ years’ experience in the construction industry, and fluency in English and Spanish. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in both English and Spanish. This position requires a valid passport and frequent travel to remote international job sites and properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in a leadership position. This full time, year round position starts at $80,000 - $95,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications. 


Roles and Responsibilities


Position Purpose

  • Oversee the construction of projects and monitor all activities at assigned job sites, including ordering materials, managing construction schedules, managing crews, and ensuring health and safety compliance, all while upholding the Grassy Creek standard of quality and workmanship.


Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Create and maintain schedules for implementation of the construction project.

  • Manage contractors, subcontractors, and crews that make up the full-time construction team.

  • Assist in developing contracts, liaise with subcontractors and vendors, and perform other administrative tasks.

  • Uphold the Grassy Creek standard of quality and workmanship.

  • Ensure teams work together to deliver quality work while adhering to strict deadlines.

  • Monitor construction processes and provide training as required.

  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times, staying up to date with safety codes and advancements in construction.

  • Perform equipment, material, and routine site inspections.

  • Schedule regular meetings with vendors, site inspectors, managers, and staff.

  • Develop approval presentations for all projects that include budgets, full scope and timelines.

  • Procure and manage materials as required for projects. All purchases must be approved by the supervisor.

  • Submit weekly and monthly updates to Grassy Creek leadership.

  • Adhere to budgets and purchasing SOP requirements.

  • Work closely with architects and other professionals.

  • Process paperwork to be stored in company records.

  • Travel to multiple sites as required.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbally. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in both English and Spanish.

  • 8-10+ years’ experience in the construction industry.

  • Previous experience in a leadership position.


Special Position Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.

  • Technical proficiency including using iPhone/iPad apps, internal software system, weekly photo and text reporting.

  • Able to keep track of multiple projects. Ability to efficiently and effectively track multiple projects underway at once.

  • AbilityAble to maintain extreme confidentiality and exercise discretion.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Preferences

  • High levels of initiative and motivation.

  • Collaborative and team orientation to motivate crews and utilize team strengths.


Work Requirements

  • Valid passport and the ability to travel to domestic and international locations: 30-50% travel expected. Last minute travel can be common depending on the critical needs of the project.

  • May require weekend and non-business hour meetings or site visits.

  • Must be able to work with diverse cultures at various job sites.

  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.

  • Driving will be required - need a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
